Established in 2016 in Nahan, Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh, YSPGMC is the third government medical college in Himachal Pradesh after IGMC Shimla and RPGMC Kangra. Named after the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, the college was founded to meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals in the state.
The college initially admitted 100 MBBS students, later increased to 120 seats, and is affiliated with the National Medical Commission (NMC). YSPGMC also offers postgraduate courses in Community Medicine and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programs.
