Government Medical College, Eluru, is one of the newly established government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh, set up under the state government’s ambitious plan to establish a medical college in every district. Approved in May 2023 and affiliated with Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, the college is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The Eluru Medical College began academic operations from the 2023–24 session with an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats. It is attached to a government teaching hospital, providing essential healthcare services to the district and acting as a major training hub for future doctors in the region.
