Established in 2019 (LOP date: 31st May 2019), the institution evolved from the Diamond Harbour Sub-Divisional Hospital (1974) to the Diamond Harbour District Hospital (2012), before attaining its current stature as a full-fledged government medical college and tertiary referral hospital.
