Calcutta National Medical College (CNMC), Kolkata, popularly known as Chittaranjan Hospital, is one of the most reputed government medical colleges in West Bengal. Established in 1948 after the amalgamation of the National Medical Institute (founded in 1921 during the Non-Cooperation Movement and inaugurated by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose) and the Calcutta Medical Institute, it carries a rich legacy of freedom, healthcare, and medical education.
