AIIMS Gorakhpur, established in 2019, is one of the premier medical institutions in Uttar Pradesh and part of the elite AIIMS network under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The institute was announced in July 2014 as part of the Phase-IV expansion of AIIMS and the foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22 July 2016.
The first batch of MBBS students was admitted in 2019 with 50 seats, which has now increased to 125 seats per year. The institute provides world-class medical education, research opportunities, and tertiary healthcare facilities, serving thousands of patients daily through its hospital and OPD services.
